Satanic Panic Musick

SATANIC PANIC ARCHIVES

Some of the music cited by paranoia-mongers during the Satanic Panic as being devil-inspired and leading youth to commit hellacious deeds and damn their souls to the pits of Hell. The PMRC attempted to ban these from the radio, and had stickers placed on albums to warn parents of the evil content therein and Satan's influence upon children; which ironically only served to make the product more intriguing and boost sales. Included are some of those accused musicians, as well as songs about various devil-worshipping murderers. Cryptic backwards messages were also said to be present within the records, acting like invocations, unleashing demons to possess the listener towards either damnation, homicide, or suicide, and inspiration to sin & break the '10 commandments'.

A plethora of media shock shows would go on to obsess on occult subject matter such as Geraldo Rivera's "Devil Worship: Exposing Satan's Underground", 20/20: The Devil Worshippers, Inside Edition, Pacesetters, America's Best Kept Secret: A Look At Modern Day Satanism {Logos Media Group, Passport Magazine Production}, Devil Worship: The Rise of Satanism {Jeremiah Films}, The Devil's Web {Dave Roever Ministries}, Satanic Cults & Ritual Crime, In The Name of Satan {Bob Larson Ministries}, In Satan's Name, Stuck In A Nightmare, Turmoil In The Toybox {Phil Phillips, Gary Greenwald; Eagle's Nest Ministries} others. As well as Horror movies, board games {particularly Ouija, Dungeons & Dragons}, and toys.

Now and then Church of Satan representatives would appear on talk shows and be interviewed for media sources to explain what real Satanism is, but were frequently met with chop-shop 'journalism' to present as lurid a story as possible for slack-jawed audiences. Indeed, besides the church, Satan has been the best friend the media has ever had!

Books released with such titles as Satanism: Is Your Family Safe? {Ted Schwarz & Duane Empey}, He Came To Set The Captives Free {Rebecca Brown}, The Satan Hunter {Tom Wedge w/Robert L. Powers}, The New Satanists {Linda Blood}, Satan: The Seduction of America's Youth {Bob Larson}, The Ultimate Evil {Maury Terry}, Satan's Underground {Lauren Stratford}, Painted Black {Carl Raschke}, Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship & Crime {Michael Newton}, Michelle Remembers {Lawrence Pazder}, The Nightstalker: The Life and Crimes of Richard Ramirez {Philip Carlo}, Knight Stalker {Clifford Linedecker}, Web of Darkness {Sean Sellers}, Say You Love Satan {David St. Claire}, The Satan Seller {Mike Warnke}, The Edge of Evil: The Rise of Satanism in North America {Jerry Johnston}, Halloween & Satanism {Phil Phillips & Joan Hake Robie}, The Devil's Web: Who Is Stalking Your Children For Satan? {Pat Pulling with Cathy Cawthon}, In The Name of Satan Wensley Clarkson}. Most importantly, a full explanation on the societal panic called "Satanic Panic: The Creation of A Contemporary Legend' by Jeffrey S. Victor}.

There are a few "all-stars" of The Satanic Panic, namely Richard 'The Night Stalker' Ramirez, Ricky 'The Acid King' Kasso, Sean Sellers, Pete Roland, Tommy Sullivan; cult leader Charles Manson, & David 'Son of Sam' Berkowitz. Other killers though also fascinating, like Ed Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, The Zodiac Killer, Hillside Stranglers, John Wayne "Pogo the Clown" Gacy, not included due to non-devil worship connotation.

Playlist concludes with Magus LaVey elucidating some key points about real Satanism. The Church of Satan has persevered beyond the first Quinquagenary, and beyond! ∞
