The Strange Case of Phineas Gage

A study in Abnormal Psychology. In addition, while the case of Phineas Gage is obviously one of accident resulting in his unfortunate condition {which he strived to manipulate}, there are some who are born with a dysfunctional frontal lobe, and others still devolve these faculties through societal erosion, many times by the emulation of absurd personality traits exhibited by inferior & mediocre models of behavior, which govern propriety, tact, deportment, & even pride, many times compromising the sense of self-preservation with erroneous decisions based on mere impulse, devoid of sound reasoning, balanced perspective, or epicurean selection*. ∞

* Which would be tantamount to what Aristotle refers to as "Arete", or "excellent thinking".
