Three people have been jailed for torturing a girl they accused of being a witch.
The girl's two aunts wept as they were jailed for 10 years each at the Old Bailey.
Her uncle was jailed for four years for aiding and abetting child cruelty against the eight-year-old.
Judge Christopher Moss told them they had mounted a "campaign of cruelty that amounted to a campaign of torture".
He added: "It is the very pinnacle of cruelty to a child that demands the maximum sentence."
The 40-year-old woman who had brought the girl to England from Angola in 2002 and who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been found guilty of four charges of cruelty following an earlier trial.
Her cousin, Sita Kisanga, 35, of Hackney, east London, was found guilty of three charges of aiding and abetting child cruelty.
The women were cleared of conspiracy to murder the girl.
Kisanga's brother Sebastian Pinto, 33, of Stoke Newington, north London, was found guilty of one charge of aiding and abetting.
The girl said she was beaten, cut with a knife and had chilli peppers rubbed in her eyes to beat the devil out of her. The woman had placed her in a laundry bag and told her she would be thrown into a river to drown.
Christinsanity: Merely more evidence that blindlight beLIEf-systems are dangerous and attract rotten types. The misdirected masochistic weak of mind continue to victimize even those within their families and religion, and as such, are so-named 'white wolves'.
