INDIANAPOLIS -- A teenager has been charged with multiple counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and sexual battery against two female victims. The unusual part of this crime is that he allegedly told the victims he was a vampire, RTV6's Derrik Thomas reported.
Police said 18-year-old Steven Rogers told female victims that he is a vampire and worships Satan.
There are no allegations that he tried to suck the victims' blood, but police said he bit and bruised their necks.
Rogers denied the allegations.
"It was something I got into when I was in sixth grade and I got out of it in eighth grade. I stopped doing it in the eighth grade. I realized it was stupid," Rogers said.
Stupid or not, court documents said that one of the attacks occurred last month at the Oakridge Manor mobile home park, along Pendleton Pike.
The alleged attack was against a 15-year-old girl.
"He had made statements to the girls in reference to him being a vampire. It led to injuries to the girls' necks and subsequently some sexual assault to each girl," Lawrence police Sgt. Matthew Miller said.
Those wounds are healing. Police have photos of them, but they were not made available to RTV6.
As for the issue of Satan worship, Rogers simply had this to say.
"I have never done that. I just stopped going to church. I don't do that kind of stuff. I've got friends who do, but I don't mess with that," Rogers said.
Rogers remains free on a $3,500 bond. His jury trial is scheduled for Aug. 11. Rogers' movements are watched using a global satellite tracking system.
Another trendoid without a clue.
